Windows 7 (64bit version) ERBU has been tested on Windows 7 and this is the most stable platform. Must be run as an Administrator. Windows 8 (All versions) ERBU has NOT been tested on Windows 8 since it has not been very popular for industrial users. If you are running Windows 8, please try the demo before purchasing to be sure it will work for you. Windows 10 (64bit version) ERBU has been tested on Windows 10. The user priviledges in Windows 10 cause a lot of difficulty with any application that is actually useful. Below are the settings that give the best performance under Windows 10. Windows 10 Registry Changes:
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin=0
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\ConsentPromptBehaviorUser=0
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA=1
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\UIPI, change (Default) from (value not set) to 1
Other Windows 10 Tips: Run ERBU as an administrator to take advantage of the advanced features.* Make sure you have read/write access to the ERBU folder. As a last resort, you can turn off UAC entirely.** Do this by setting the following in the registry:
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA=0
* Under Administrator Mode, drag and drop from Windows Explorer no longer works, however alternate file explorers like XYPlorer do. ** This will cause newer 'Metro' style apps to stop working. If you don't use them, this is best option.
